eek, Al 'Bloody' Franken for Senator

Abraham Lincoln was ugly but thanks to the lack of photojournalism in the 19th century he still got elected. In all seriousness though, you're right! I CANNOT stand Al Franken. Unfortunately, he'll probably get elected. Then maybe he'll learn that it isn't so easy to play the politics game when you're actually on the court instead of sitting in the cheap seats. What would be even better is if he would tell Janine Garafolo how hard it really is to be a member of the US Legislative branch.
I'm curious as to how many lobbyist he will befriend?

Al Franken sometimes can make a good point but he would be too hard to take seriously

Well, now I'm curious to know what good point Franken has ever made?

But he's sorta like Dixie Chicks lite now. I mean, the girls can sing. I used to love their stuff. But once you dislike them, nothing they do sounds good, and even the things you once liked make you feel nauseous when you hear them.

So Franken was rather amusing once, and I don't want to say that he couldn't come up with a line that would make me laugh again, but I'd prefer to show my approval by punching him in the face.

lol, but i bet he doesn't tell people that beetroot cures AIDS. ah, with leaders like this, who needs ... well... leaders.
Someone sent me a personal message and told me I was childish with my name calling of Al 'Bloody' Franken.
Just because it may sound childish does not mean that it isn't truthful. I suppose he would have felt better if I called Al a thief, a liar, a con-man and a no-talent comedian.

No one's going to vocally, let alone financially, endorse a clown like Franken.

He won't be elected. No one will touch this guy for fear of tarnishing their reputation.

Al isn't a serious person.

...I was trying to think of something to follow up the above line...but there's really nothing else to be said.

Al isn't a serious person.

thanks for the unsolicited advice, lady.

Oh the irony, Maddy! Anyone who has any regard for Franken and then calls you childish is merely expressing his aspirations. And Franken himself built his whole career on childishness. Looks like you hit a nerve.

Well, I hope that the person who sent you the PM also sends messages to sites on which liberals call George Bush "Chimpy" and "dumb" and, oh yes, "mean". Just saying.

But none of those words reflect the majority opinion of Americans. When asked to give one word that best describes George W. Bush, the overwhelming winner was “incompetent.”

As is their right, and the right of those who, in the same survey, used the words "idiot", "liar", and "sucks". As far as I know, Madmouser did not send them PMs taking them to task for it. That's the point in case you missed it.

And, by the way, I believe you are misstating a survey. The number of those who used "incompetent" was not overwhelming (29 people out of 710). It was closely followed by "good" (23), and somewhat less by "idiot" and "liar" and "Christian". Seven (7) people, in what I guess to have been a rare moment of heightened articulation, called him a "jerk". (In Feb. '05, seven people said he "sucks".)

And the survey came in the wake of the Dubai port management deal fiasco. As recent as July '05, the word most used to describe him was "honest", 3 years in a row until the Dubai debacle.

Sorry, Mad, didn't mean to hijack your blog.

Though 48% of those polled suggested something negative, I apologize to those Americans that said that George W. Bush was an “idiot” and “liar” in place of saying he was “incompetent.” I think that we can all feel better about that.

It's sadly obvious that some do.

...and I'm sure Reagan was all sorts of serious when he was campaigning...

I'll just say this.

When a country can vote an actor in as President, a talk show host as governor (who then quit after getting caught with a prostitute) and another actor as a governor, I would think the possibilities are endless in that country.
Hey, don't forget the "professional" wrestling star, Jesse "The Body" Ventura, who became governor of Minnesota.
ah yes...that one...hahaha!! thanks for the reminder.
