eek, Al 'Bloody' Franken for Senator
Is this a 'bloody' joke or what? Have you seen his resume'? He is listed as a comedian. Can anyone find a time when he was funny? No,,,He became a talk show host. Was he successful? Again, the answer is No...Can he speak with out cursing? Again, its a No...The madmouser will not give up. I will run my little feet off looking for a question that can be answered yes.
Two weeks later....
The madmouser has returned from her quest. Exhausted, covered in dust bunnies and hungry for some real cheese, not that make believe cheese, but also successful. As always! The madmouser gets her man.
Is Al Franken mean? Yes, yes, yes
Is Al Franken ugly? Yes, yes ,yes
Is Al Franken dumb? Yes, yes, yes
And that spells MUD...

Well, now I'm curious to know what good point Franken has ever made?
But he's sorta like Dixie Chicks lite now. I mean, the girls can sing. I used to love their stuff. But once you dislike them, nothing they do sounds good, and even the things you once liked make you feel nauseous when you hear them.
So Franken was rather amusing once, and I don't want to say that he couldn't come up with a line that would make me laugh again, but I'd prefer to show my approval by punching him in the face.
Just because it may sound childish does not mean that it isn't truthful. I suppose he would have felt better if I called Al a thief, a liar, a con-man and a no-talent comedian.
No one's going to vocally, let alone financially, endorse a clown like Franken.
He won't be elected. No one will touch this guy for fear of tarnishing their reputation.
Al isn't a serious person.
...I was trying to think of something to follow up the above line...but there's really nothing else to be said.
Al isn't a serious person.
Oh the irony, Maddy! Anyone who has any regard for Franken and then calls you childish is merely expressing his aspirations. And Franken himself built his whole career on childishness. Looks like you hit a nerve.
But none of those words reflect the majority opinion of Americans. When asked to give one word that best describes George W. Bush, the overwhelming winner was “incompetent.”
As is their right, and the right of those who, in the same survey, used the words "idiot", "liar", and "sucks". As far as I know, Madmouser did not send them PMs taking them to task for it. That's the point in case you missed it.
And, by the way, I believe you are misstating a survey. The number of those who used "incompetent" was not overwhelming (29 people out of 710). It was closely followed by "good" (23), and somewhat less by "idiot" and "liar" and "Christian". Seven (7) people, in what I guess to have been a rare moment of heightened articulation, called him a "jerk". (In Feb. '05, seven people said he "sucks".)
And the survey came in the wake of the Dubai port management deal fiasco. As recent as July '05, the word most used to describe him was "honest", 3 years in a row until the Dubai debacle.
Sorry, Mad, didn't mean to hijack your blog.
Though 48% of those polled suggested something negative, I apologize to those Americans that said that George W. Bush was an “idiot” and “liar” in place of saying he was “incompetent.” I think that we can all feel better about that.
It's sadly obvious that some do.
I'll just say this.
When a country can vote an actor in as President, a talk show host as governor (who then quit after getting caught with a prostitute) and another actor as a governor, I would think the possibilities are endless in that country.
